Back in October 2018, the storm ‘Adrian’ has hit South Tyrol badly. With a wind speed up to 140 km/h and up to 400 mm rain it had a deep impact on the area. Killing an estimated number of 14 million trees.
A cold front reached the Alps on the weekend, covering the high peaks with snow.
Most snow is now gone with the sky clearing up, but still making a good contrast to the green down below. Things will definitely change in a few weeks…
Happy Covering 🙂
Summer is over and Fall has started in the northern hemisphere. Time of the year to do more beautiful hikes in the Alps. This time I take you on a hike through the green Tschamin valley: for me one of the most beautiful and scenic places in the Dolomites, Italy.
This winter in the Alps is very dry and warm. Because there is no snow it is excellent to do some hiking instead. I’m closing the year with the family in the Italian part of the Alps, and we visited today the Fane Alm, a seasonal alpine pasture. The most beautiful small alpine village I ever have seen. It is located at the top end of the valley of Vals, South Tyrol, Italy.
