RS-485 with NXP LPC55S69

I’m using the RS-485 field bus in many of my projects: it is very reliable and robust, and easy to implement. And with ModBus there is standardized protocol used in building automation or industrial control applications. For example I’m using the protocol to communicate between battery systems and an EV Charger.

SWO with ARM Cortex-M33

One major concern of embedded system development is performance. Microcontroller have more MHz than in the past, but embedded applications are all about timing and real-time aspects.

The challenge is: how to get data off the target in realtime? SWO can help with this….

Tutorial: Adding FreeRTOS to where there is no FreeRTOS

FreeRTOS is pretty much everywhere because it is so simple and universal, and it runs from the smallest to the biggest systems. But it still might be that for the microcontroller device you have selected there is no example or SDK support for it from your vendor of choice. In that case: no problem: I show how you could easily add FreeRTOS plus many more goodies to it.
