Just before the Snow

It has been snowing down to the lower areas in Switzerland the past days: Winter finally arrived in my area. So I consider last weekend the ‘weekend before winter’, at least in a meteorological sense. And because it was a wonderful ‘inversion’ situation with fog below and sunny sky above, it is a good time to share a few impressions.

Inversion: Haggenegg and Stockhütte

Inversion‘ is an interesting meteorology phenomena: normally the air temperature gets colder the higher you get up in the mountains. With the inversion situation it is the other way round: cold air in the lower areas building a sea of fog, and warmer air and sunshine up above. Perfect for a hike, so sharing pictures from last weekend.
