Mountain areas can be full of danger. Documented by two impressive videos about a rockfall from the Mel de la Niva, near Evolène in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland last week. The area has been under surveillance for a while.

Lakeside View
Image
It was a very warm (32°C) and beautiful summer Sunday. Spent some time at the ‘house lake’. The picture shows a view over Lake Lauerz to my home village on the other side:
Far to the left the Rigi, with the Rossberg in the middle. On the left of the Rossberg is the rock slide area from 1806 (see “Hacking the Heating System for Cooling – Geothermal Drilling with extra Benefits“). On the right the Spiegelberg and then far to the right part of the Mythen.
Happy Laking 🙂
Sunday and Rain is Coming …
Image
It is Sunday morning, and the sun shines into the valley of Schwyz. It looks like it could be a beautiful Sunday, but the weather forecast predicts clouds and rain for the afternoon. So I make a panorama shot to the west to my home village and the Rigi mountain int the background. Rain is coming soon…
Happy Sundaying 🙂

Field Art Link Star in Memory of Agent BBJ
Yesterday night, in a cross faction Ingress operation, agents from different places in Switzerland created a virtual Field Art Star for the recently passed agent BBJ (BigBigJerk) Andreas Lander. Agents from both factions worked together to create a gigantic link star in Switzerland. Watch the video of its creation:
One of 80’000: Lightning Struck over Lucerne Area
In Switzerland, Meteo Schweiz normally counts 200’000 to 500’000 lightnings every year. On June 7th 2015, the system counted over 80’000! In that evening, a heavy thunderstorm moved over most parts of Switzerland. I have not been able to take good pictures myself, but Michael Uebelhart shared that one from the Bürgenstock overlooking the Lucerne area with me:

Campus Horw, Yesterday
Image
Well, I took that picture yesterday morning of the University campus in Horw, not thinking much about it. Except that I liked the composition of white, blue, red and green with yellow:
Except that today is a cold, windy and rainy day, making the view from yesterday even more beautiful.
Happy Sunshining 🙂
