With “Adding RGBW Wings and Enclosure to a Debug Probe” I have a really shiny enclosure for the MCU-Link Pro Enclosure.
But I did not had enough time to replicate this for a full set of classroom hardware. The original card boxes from NXP showed already after one semester severe wear, so I have to setup something more robust: a box to store all the cables, and an enclosure to protect the PCB, for 40 units.
3D printing would take to much time, so I ended up with buying storage boxes and creating an laser-cut acrylic (PMMA) enclosure for the debug probe itself:

Left the original packaging from NXP, right the new packaging for the labs: about the same size, but ‘rugged’ enough for lab usage.

I’m using 4 mm PMMA shets for the top and bottom. Engraving and cutting for the top and bottom pice takes around 1 minute only. 3D printing something like this would take much longer.

The design is a .svg (Inkskape) file:

Below the needed parts for the enclosure, with 3D printed spacers (black PLA). 3D printing the parts for one enclosure takes 7 minutes.

The nuts and spacers keep the two PMMA sheets together:

Everything then is put into a raaco storage box from conrad:

You can find all the files on Github. That way you can replicate that enclosure for your MCU-Link Pro too. The enclosure and box makes it a good and solid J-Link/LinkServer/CMSIS-DAP debugging solution. In case you need an enclosure for the non-Pro MCU-Link, I have you covered too.

Hello.
In the SVG file on the upper piece, is there a difference between what is cutting the piece and engraving the texts?
I bought a laser cutter years ago but have never used it. My question is how the design differs from what is cut from what is engraving of drawings or texts.

The difference is that in the .SVG, I changed the line color and transparency settings, so it works better for different laser cutters.
Additionally, I tweaked the engraved text to be better matching the pins, plus I have enlarged the SWD debug port cutout to be less tight, as the boards might have the debug connector shifted sometimes in the solder reflow process.

The SVG already has the proper scaling in the file. E.g. I have used Inkscape, and with this all the scaling is done properly?
