The Haggenegg is a summit at 1414 m between Schwyz and Alpthal. The summit played an important role during the “Marchenstreit“: a border conflict starting around the year 1100 between Schwyz and the Einsiedeln Abbey.

Lilium Martagon
Image
The Lilium Martagon (Turk’s Cap Lily, Lily of Istanbul, Sultan Lily or Dragon Lily.) grows up to 2 meters and is one of the most beautiful lily flower in my area. I can find it mostly around 1000-1200 m in the nearby Alps, e.g. on the Rigi mountain range.
Hiking up to the Rigi Hochflue
Just nearby where I live I have a mountain peak with a beautiful panorama view. So I’ll take you on virtual tour with high-resolution pictures to the Rigi Hochflue (1998 m).
The tour starts from the Gätterli summit (1699 m) in the morning:
Rigi Hochflue Alpine Flowers

With the beautiful Alps just outside the door step, I hiked up to the Rigi Hochflue on Sunday, so I can share pictures of alpine flowers at 1698 m (click to enlarge):
Bees and Lavendula
Today it has been a mostly rainy day, except in the morning there was a small window with sunshine and no rain. Amazing to watch the bumblebees, bees and wild bees are taking advantage of that opportunity.
Seefelder Spitze

The Seefelder Spitze is a mountain peak near Seefeld (Tyrol) at 2220 meters high. That peak was the goal of a hiking tour in the Karwendel Alps:

The Schwanau is a little island in Lake Lauerz. It is occupied by a ruined castle, a chapel and a restaurant:
Lady’s-Slipper Orchid – Cypripedium Calceolus
While hiking outside to get some sunlight (see “Daylight beating my Jetlag“), I saw on my way one of the rare Cypripedium Calceolus. They are known here as ‘Gelber Frauenschuh’ or ‘Lady’s-Slipper Orchid):
Daylight beating my Jetlag
Air travel and especially across many time zones is no fun. I returned from the NXP FTF conference in Austin, Texas. Travelling to the west works pretty good, but travelling east is a beast.
My best tip beating timezone tiredness is to get out and tank as much sunlight as I can after. It has been a beautiful day today, I got a lot of sunlight, so here is a share of that:
Primula Bug
Image
The Primula is a flowers in my region which announces the spring time. Captured that beautiful one today with a bug on it 🙂
