On a lifelong learning journey …

Winter made its heavy entry in Switzerland last night, covering my home with 5 centimeter of wet and heavy snow. High areas received up to 1 meter which caused a lot of problems. Instead of sharing that rather unpleasant snow (I am more of the glaring white powderish snow person), I can share how things looked before: Colorful trees with snow-covered mountains in the back, cattle still can have a mouth of green grass. I already guessed on Sunday that this will not last for long…

Every season has its special colors. I very much like the warm colors of the Fall season. Maybe this was the weekend before we will get snow into the lower areas. Soon everything will be covered by cold snow….

Wildflowers, by Altitude

A very nice and relaxing vacation week in Austria comes to its end. It was fascinating to see how nature changes by altitude: the lower areas had big and ‘expensive’ flowers, while in the higher areas they were much smaller and had to survive a much harsher environment.

I have good friends in Texas which think that there are no mountains in the Alps: at the time when they visited Switzerland, there were no mountains visible because of low clouds :-(. So their believe is that all the mountains I show are created with Photoshop!
