This blog usually features Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), but my other passion are Personalized Cutting Boards :-).
It has been a while since my last CNC or laser cutter post, so I thought I showcase just quickly one of the recent designs.

For the cutting boards I use 20 mm oak sheets, and cut them with my desktop CNC.
The design is really easy and simple, and only takes about 5-6 minutes to cut:

The result is a raw cutting board, I can produce in different sizes. Usually I produce 2-3 of them, just to have some ready in my inventory.

That way whenever someone in the family needs a personalized present, I have them ready and only need to have engrave it with the laser cutter.

Finally, the board gets treated with food-grade oil for a nice finish.

With this, they are ready to use:

Below some of the cutting boards:

Happy cutting 🙂
They’re very beautiful 😍😍😍

Great idea for PCBs and impeccable manufacture. I see that the base boards used for PCBs are made from smaller oak planks. Is glue, used for connecting theese planks, food safe?

Yes, it is made of smaller wood pieces, and uses a special food safe wood glue.

You have way too much fun….
One thing about cutting boards: they always should be out of Maple as that’s (oddly enough) the only wood that is anti-bacterial (is actually a cleaner surface than stainless because of it).

I have read that about Maple too. Unfortunately, that wood is somehow really hard to get here.
As for the anti-bacterial topic: I had never issues, with properly hand-wash-cleaning the boards and drying it. Of course it all depends what your are cutting on it too.
