At the university we collect and recycle: bottles, batteries, glass, electronics and metal. Somebody did not have any use for a bunch of copper wires. I thought: there must be a better second live for it. This is how it looks:
It started with a bunch of copper wires I have found in the recycle bin:
Add tools and beads: the more beads the better:
Cut the wire to a length of about 50 cm:
Take a single wire, add 3-5 beads and drill it at the end:
Make lots of them:
Start drilling them together:
Combine them to a tree:
Bring it into a natural shape:
Finally, find a stone. Use hot glue to attach the tree on top of it.
Et Voilà:
Kudos to my daughter for doing the ‘wiring’ and ‘beading’.
Happy Wiring 🙂
Looks awesome! I’ve seen similar a long time ago, but they used something else than beads, but that was a very smart idea. I love how you put it on the stone as well. Nice work!

Wires diameter is around 0.2 mm. I wish it would have been less that that. That way more ‘leaves’ could be created without making the trunk too big.

Oh, but I think it really looks nice!

Lovely! I’d like to see a picture a year from now once the natural patina has set in — I bet it will look even better!
