When I returned yesterday to my campus office where I share the office room with three other professors, I noticed that something has changed: In addition to our piles of hardware, papers and books, my colleague Thierry is now surrounded by 25+ plants and flowers 🙂
So what happened? Well, Thierry is moving, and after terminating his earlier flat there is one month gap until he can enter the new flat! Not a big deal: there is summer, it is vacation time, and furniture/etc can be stored in a storage house. But what to do with all the flowers and plants? No problem, they get a temporary place and asylum on the campus 🙂
So we all have now the extra job to water the plants for a month :-).
Happy Watering 🙂

“So we all have now the extra job to water the plants for a month” – I can see a new Kinetis project coming on…

Sounds like you’re talking automated irrigation. Have you heard of openhab being used with Kinetis kit?

Yes, I have looked into openHAB for a while. I started tinkering with it using my Raspberry Pi and FRDM Boards :-).

Hi John,
in case you have not noticed: I have started an article series about using openHAB with Raspberry Pi and Kinetis: https://mcuoneclipse.com/2015/12/23/installing-openhab-home-automation-on-raspberry-pi/
