The Karwendel is a mountain range on the border between Germany and Austria.

A hiking path leads up to the Karwendel. The Karwendel Bahn station is on the border of the Karwendel nature preservation park. Right behind the station is the Karwendel Grube: home of (really hard to spot!) the Alpen Schneehuhn. To protect the birds, it is not allowed to enter their habitat inside the pit:

The Karwendel station is a good starting point for many hiking and climbing tours in the area, with spectacular views:

  1. I hope they have bike paths up there, looks like it would be a great place to ride.

    Just updated to two 4k monitors, and yet still I can’t view the image full size 😐 The detail is awesome.
