It was again one of these Sundays: I’m stuck in dense fog down in the valley, but getting up a few hundred meters things are inverted:
The current inversion will probably last for the next few days. Which means I will be working deeply in the fog :-(.
Happy Inverting 🙂
We get inversions here, only I’m at the top of the mountain, which in Winter we like snow, for skiing and boarding on.
There are days were it’s very warm up top (snow melting or worse raining) and down in the valley it’s freezing 😦
You post some fantastic photos, keep it up 🙂

Yes, it was yesterday much warmer up there (around 14°C, while down in the fog is was around 5°C. If the fog stays longer, it will cool down more and yes it will be freezing too. There is a nice effect with frozen fog if the conditions are right, see https://mcuoneclipse.com/2014/05/28/frozen-fog/

Is there a story behind why the cross was placed at that overlook? Is it a memorial or something? 😉

No special story behind it. Most peaks in that area have a cross on it, plus on many overlooking places. It is just an old local tradition.
